Tri Cap Cana’s 10th Anniversary in 7 Facts

Ten editions, hundreds of athletes and countless kilometers swimming, cycling and running across the Destination City. Tri Cap Cana celebrated its 10th anniversary this year with a renewed course that introduced new settings and race formats.

1. More than 350 athletes joined the anniversary edition, between individual competitors and relay teams, alongside volunteers, collaborators and families.
2. The course tells a story of its own: in 2019 the start and the swim were at Juanillo Beach. This year El Lago debuted as the starting point and swimming venue.
3. The Farallón remains part of the challenge, as one of the most demanding stretches of the cycling segment.
4. Sprint or Olympic: a 750 m swim, 20 km bike and 5 km run, or 1.5 km, 40 km and 10 km.
5. The duathlon was one of this year’s big additions, combining running and cycling.
6. Champions: Jorge Emanuel Alemanez Martínez and Isabel Rodríguez Silverio (Sprint). David Ballesta García and Leslie Amat Álvarez (Olympic). The Olympic relay went to Elieser Grullón’s team.
7. A decade that is also sports tourism: the Tri is part of a calendar that makes sport another way to experience the destination.
